What we really need is …

Ok so my love of hockey won out over my loathing of the Olympics, and I watched the Olympic Hockey. I have to say that both the women’s and men’s team were Great and both won gold. But should this make me a proud Canadian? My answer is yes and NO. Yes because we have shown the world that we as a nation Rule the Sport. No because how can I be proud of a country that spends $6.5 BILLION on the Olympics when there are people here in Canada that have to make a choice between feeding their family or paying rent.
Come on people: is our image as a country defined by how good we are at sports, or should it be defined by how we treat our own citizens? We have traded our reputation for having the best health care and education system in the world to winning the most gold medals at some sports. I don’t want anyone to think that I am saying we should not support our athletes, but we need to hang our heads in shame.
Because of the Olympics, hospitals had to cancel all elective surgeries and even some that were non-elective. So why should we be proud of this?
And can some one please tell me why the Para-Olympics are NOT being showcased as much as the “regular” Olympics? Just because these people are not as “ABLE-BODIED” as the other Olympians does this mean their accomplishments are not as worthy of the Media coverage as the more able-bodied competitors?
When our Governments want to spend this kind of money we as a people should be DEMANDING that it be on something a little more tangible then a sporting event. When the Majority of today’s youth are functionally illiterate and we spend $100 million on a LUGE track that we can not use. I have to question the country’s mentality.
Personally I would rather see Canada as a world leader in Health Care, Education, and Housing, than on building a track that the average Canadian will NEVER get to use.
Let the Other Nations have the Gold Medals I would rather be able to say to the world that we have the Highest Standard of living for the average person, the BEST health care, and most educated population in the world.

Welcome to the Dictatorship
Published February 22, 2010 | Welcome to the Fascist Dictatorship of British Columbia. Where we are ruled by Alcoholic White Trash by the name of Gordon Campbell. Now you may be asking yourself why is BC a dictatorship?
The answer is simple Gordon Campbell and the Liberal party of BC have spent money on frivolous shit. The Olympics are just the tip of the mountain. There is a TRAVEL BAN in effect for any person that works for the Provincial Government. They are NOT allowed to go to the mainland if they live and work in Victoria they are not allowed to go to Vancouver unless they already had vacation time booked off and their tickets purchased before hand.
The welfare system is designed to keep people dependant on the system to prevent them from have the funds to move from bad areas, educate themselves, or afford a home of their own. Gone are the days or rent being 1/3 of your monthly take home pay.
But when you look at the visible majority of the people on the welfare system you will see that they are using the money to buy drugs or booze. If you were to go and drive by the corner of Pandora and Quadra and look at the welfare office there you would see that 9 out of 10 of the people there waiting for their hand out are just there for the money and don’t want to bother to think of finding a job, let alone actively looking for work.
I know there are people on the system that do follow the rules and do need the help. But because of Gordon Campbell and his government landlords have been able to jack rents sky high. The Fact that BC has an unemployment rate of 8.4% doesn’t help us either.
I would like to ask Gordon Campbell where all the Jobs the Olympics were supposed to bring us are? But I doubt he would be able to answer as he is too drunk. My sources inside the BC legislature tell me that Gordon Campbell is rarely sober. But hey we are paying for his driver with our hard earned tax dollars so why should we give a shit right? (PLEASE NOTE THE SACASIM DRIPPING THERE)
Anyone with a slight amount of intellect will tell you that every government has it’s flaws. That is a crock of BULLSHIT! I figure if we have to live with a Dictator why not a benevolent dictator some one who actually cares about the people that he governs?
I will leave you with that little tidbit to tide you over.

Why Americans LOVE CANADA
Published February 15, 2010 | A friend sent this to me this morning; this is by NO MEANS to be taken as a sign I am supporting the Olympics, or I like Americans but NBC has just become my favourite American broadcaster.
But lets discuss the Olympics for a moment. I have been doing some thinking and maybe there might be some thing good to come from the Olympics. Maybe a new category for the Darwin Awards for Olympic Athletes. The First one can go to the Georgian Luge guy.
Now let me give you some good solid arguments against the Olympic Games; $100 million for the Fastest Luge track in the world and because of one guy everybody will be starting from the women’s start Point. I guess as far as the Olympics are concerned women are NOT as good as men and therefore need a SMALLER track to use. How the hell can anyone claim to be equal when the IOC says women are weaker and not as able as men.
This past week an Inside source told me our Provincial Government are BANKRUPT because of these games and they secretly laid off 200 employees, and plan more cuts to health care and other “Social Programs”
Because of the need for health care and hospital beds for the Olympic Games some people have had to have “Non Elective” yet urgent surgery postponed until after the games are complete. Apparently athletes are considered more important then the General Public.
Now let’s talk about the mental midgets who insist on causing havoc and damage while protesting the games. These assholes are by NO MEANS helping the situation. They are only costing the taxpayer more money by damaging public property. If you truly want to send a message to the Liberals in Victoria, VOTE THEM OUT OF POWER. But these wastes of sperm have justified the outrages amount that was spent on Security for the games. Hmm maybe that was all part of the plan in the first place. Something for you conspiracy theorists to think about.

Olympic luger dies in training-run crash

Let me say I am proud of Canada and I think Canadian athletes are the best at what they do. But if the Millions of dollars were not enough to say these games are worthless how many more fatalities will it take?
And before you all start saying it is a risk he knew about I will say BULLSHIT!!! Why is it acceptable for a man to die in OVER priced GAMES? If you truly think that these games are not anything more then Propaganda then you have proven the point that the money spent on these games was really needed for education.
All these people want to do is to show the world how good they are at the sport they have dedicated their lives to but in costing one man his life I say this is too great a cost.
